lyrics

Late in the evening,
I stumble out of bed.
Two shades of a teardrop
Lay where I rest my head.

You said I've got no soul to speak of,
I said 'It takes one to know one' and smiled.
Walked away from the misery,
Felt no emptiness inside.

You asked 'Is this where it is?'
I said to you, 'It's like this'
Can't feel for the sickness,
Can't believe in no relief.

I said 'I love you', well I didn't mean it.
Though in truth, I've never felt it before.
You're just part of the carnival,
'Leave your feelings at the door'.

Well if I die before I say goodbye,
You'll know where to come and see.
But don't bring roses, bring a thorn bush,
Lord knows that's all I need.

And if I go to hell,
At least I know I'll be home.
Well its not like these streets are too far removed,
These streets, I walk alone.

Its not like these streets are too far removed,
These streets, I call them home.
